Verdict: long, pricey, and cheap per step
Tristan costs 929 diamonds, more than Grant at 712 and James at 431. That sounds like a lot, but it's spread over 40 steps, the most of any route in 7 Brothers, and most of them are small: 9 to 34 diamonds. Only three choices go above 70.
Where the diamonds go
Season 1 is 291 diamonds over 22 choices, and all 10 free ones are here. The biggest is "Yes, but I need to establish some boundaries." for 66 in Episode 7.
Season 2 has the two biggest choices, 375 in total:
- Episode 1, Blood Will Out: "Not too tired for a scene." — 104.
- Episode 9, Coming to a Head: a 100-diamond choice, after "Ask him." for 44.
Season 3 is 263 over eight steps:
- Episode 10: "Go with Tristan." — 77.
- Episode 9: "Let's go. Together." — 31.
- Episode 8: "I love you, Tristan." — 30.
How I'd play it
Pay Season 1 as you go and don't skip the free steps. In Season 2, I'd save Episodes 1 and 9 for Diamond Rush on separate slots: that's 248 diamonds. In Season 3, the 77 in Episode 10 is the next candidate. Compare with Grant or James.
