Every step is 49 to 66 diamonds, so there's no obvious one to skip. I'd pay as I go and, if the stash runs low, move the Season 2 choices to Diamond Rush on a separate slot. The first step in Episode 12 is the same choice that opens Hunger's route, so that's where you commit. Compare with Hunger at 577 or Astaroth at 322.
